This 1989 Chevrolet Camaro IROC is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. In 1984 Chevrolet introduced "the Camaro that thinks it's a Corvette" or the IROC-Z. IROC or the International race of champions was a sanctioned SCCA event that matched up the best of the best auto racers in identically prepared cars. Although it was a complete fan favorite it had sponsorship issues beginning in 2006 and would end its storied run a year later. Much like the series Chevy's IROC would have a short but truly loved life. This 89 is a time capsule with nothing being touched and in unbelievable condition it is sure to be on very collector's wish list. Bought right here in KY by the original owner who, unfortunately, fell on hard times just 8 months & 10000 miles later would wind up selling it to the current owner. With the odometer currently sitting right under 13000 miles this IROC is far from the norm. We have all seen the ones that have lived a rough life and are either rotting away in someone's yard or have been pieced back together from 20 different cars. This is an all original 13000 mile example of the best that the 80's had. Fully optioned with everything except leather the interior is in immaculate condition with everything working as it should. Pop the hood and that’s where the true fun begins. Equipped with the 5.7 liter fuel injected motor this was one of the only stock cars in 80's that could break the 15 second quarter mile mark. Not break neck fast by today's standards but a blistering rocket back then. With power and straight line acceleration taken care of the next step was handling. After all this was thru Camaro that thought it was a Corvette. Dropped .5 inch on all four corners this Camaro not only carved the corners like Grandpa on Thanksgiving but gave it a no nonsense look. Add to this the 16 inch wheels that are wrapped with tires that only have a 50 series sidewall and this car was way before its time. Of course no 80's Camaro would be complete without the classic T-Tops, and this one even has the original leather bag. Pop the glass panels out and place them in the black bag that cinches down to keep them in place and you now have the convertible feel in a hardtop car. If that does not scream I am the best of the 80's I don't know what does. Options on this 1989 Chevrolet Camaro include; AC, AM/FM/ Cassette, T-Tops, Cruise Control, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Locks, Power Windows, Tilt Wheel, Seat Belts, Cloth/Vinyl Interior, and Aluminum Wheel wrapped in Radial Tires.
