1962 Chevy II (Nova) for sale in our Indianapolis Showroom. This '62 Chevy II is powered by a 283 CID V8 engine backed by a 700r4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission running to a 10 bolt rear end. Options on this 1962 Chevy II for sale include: AM/FM stereo with Aux, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Tilt Wheel, Seat Belts, Aluminum Wheels, Radial Tires and Cloth/Vinyl Interior. The Chevy II was a subcompact vehicle that General Motors produced from 1962 to 1979. The Chevy II nameplate was dropped in 1969 becoming simply the Nova. The Chevy II took direct aim at Ford's highly successful Falcon which had caught the whole industry off guard. Once the design team had the green light the first production model rolled off the assembly line 18 months later which to this day still stands as the fastest new car development in GM history. Though the Chevy II was originally intended to be an economical car for the masses, it wasn’t long until hot rodders everywhere realized the potential of this little coupe eventually making it an icon in the hotrod world. This gorgeous Toyota Light Blue Metallic and White Chevy II has been completely redone. The car was originally built as a rolling chassis with all new sheet metal hung and then went from there. To be a little different than most the builder decided to go with a 283 cubic inch V8 with a small cam just to give it a little grunt. The engine recently received a chrome dress up kit. The Holley 4 Barrel feeds the intake manifold while the exhaust exits thru stock manifolds which are in turn hooked to a true dual exhaust. An aluminum radiator keeps everything cool regardless of driving conditions. Keeping you going down the road is the ever popular 700r4 so not only will you will be able to be a stop light bandit but you can actually get out on the highway and cruise with the overdrive transmission. The classic runs at less than 2000 rpms at 70 mph on the highway. The 700r4 was recently professionally rebuilt. For improved handling you will find CCP tubular lower A-arms and front and rear sway bars. You will also find power disc brakes up front for improved breaking. Sitting on all 4 corners are Cooper Cobra Radial GT tires wrapped around a set of the classic Torque Thrust II style rims. For added comfort inside you will find tilt wheel, a late model vintage look Auto-Sound radio, B&M shifter, Autometer gauges, Sunpro tachometer and front and rear seats that have recently been re-upholstered.
