For sale in our Orlando showroom is a 1964 Chevrolet Nova. In 1962 Chevrolet was in deep competition with Ford’s Falcon for a top selling compact car. The first answer to the compact car race from Chevrolet was the Corvair, the spunky rear engine design was indeed revolutionary. Perhaps it was a little too revolutionary for most American buyers, in the early 60’s the more standard design Falcon outsold the Corvair by a large margin. This led the designers at Chevrolet to focus on a more traditional layout but with an incredible time deadline. From pencil to pavement the design and development of the Nova or Chevrolet II took just 18 months making it one of the fastest new car developments in GM history. Until 1964 the Nova did not come with a V8 option from the factory but it was a common swap as seen in our example here. With a light weight design and optional V8 the Nova was quite an athletic vehicle and made a popular canvas for drag racers across the board. This black and burgundy example features a 406cubic inch V8 mated to a 200R-4 automatic transmission and is an absolute blast to drive. This Nova has had some awesome modifications during its restoration including a retrofit dash board from a 59 chevy, tilt wheel, and rack and pinion steering. This Nova is equipped with AM/FM radio, CD player, power brakes, tilt wheel, vinyl interior and alloy wheels wrapped in radial tires. Located in our Orlando Showroom, this 1964 Chevrolet Nova can be seen including HD pictures and videos at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. For additional information please call 407-771-2000 or .
