Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is pleased to present for sale on consignment, this stunning 1970 Plymouth Road Runner! It's not every day that we get a magazine cover car in the inventory but if you do a quick search for the May 2005 Muscle Car Enthusiast magazine (Volume 4, Issue 5) you'll see this beauty right on the cover! A proper nod to the hard work and dedication to restore this Road Runner to its current glory. Powering the car is a 440 cubic inch V8 with the 6 pack (three 2 barrel carburetors) mated to a 4 speed manual transmission and transferring the power to the ground through a Trac Pac DANA rear end sporting 3:54 gears. This car is nearly a permanent resident of Arizona and was out of the state getting restored and attending local shows for a few years. Now it's back and the current owner is ready to give the next lucky person the chance to call it their own. The basic black vinyl interior you see is modeled after a car that was ordered without the decor package but you will notice the iconic Pistol Grip Shifter in place. The Lemon Twist exterior is in amazing condition and even features the very desirable Air Grabber Hood Scoop. The A/G hood scoop is a simple dash mounted vacuum switch to open or close the A/G door on the hood. An ignition activated electrical solenoid valve on the open circuit would bleed off the open vacuum side when ignition was off, and switch left in the open position, allowing a actuator mounted spring to close the door. I might add that a pretty cool decal is in place to let the guy at the light know what he's dealing with. Power Steering, Radial Tires, Rally Wheels and a unique sounding horn all come standard with this bird. If you can find another Road Runner this nice, we would be willing to bet it's not for sale. This is an amazing opportunity to purchase a childhood dream and that doesn't happen every day. Reach out to our sales staff by phone or email to get all the details on how to make this diamond your very own.
