The Nova has always been known as a great entry level car which could be the reason it became known as Grandma’s car. Many hot rodders took notice as these 2 door post cars became plentiful on the used market. The affordability of these cars would lead to many people buying them up and dropping much more impressive engines in them. The 73 models were at the end of the Nova’s long and successful life. Unfortunately, the safety bumpers absolutely killed the flow of the car turning many enthusiasts off from the car completely. This 73 has took care of that problem with a set of brand new chrome bumpers custom tucked to the car restoring those sexy lines of the year before. A 72 hood was even added to give it that exact look. The grill was blacked out just like an SS would have been and gives the car that classic look. The underneath has just had a brand-new set of floor pans put in and look great. The traction bars work great and add to that old time look and feel. Under the hood the classic small block has been bored .030 over giving it a total of 355 CI. The high rev cam in combination with the WEIAND intake allow for some very respectable top end power. The 4-barrel carb feeds it just the right amount of gas keeping all 8 cylinders happily fed. The TH350 transmission is the perfect piece of equipment for the job keeping upshifts firm and positive. The black vinyl interior is in great shape with the bench seat being very comfortable. The B&M shifter is placed perfectly as well giving the driver the ability to bang shift through gears if he wants or cruise thru town while letting the automatic transmission take care of it.
