1931 Ford Model A

View Description

This car not only incorporates the iconic design of the late 20's and early 30's but also has a blast-from-the-past rumble seat that is perfect for the little ones. By the late 1920's the Model T was becoming less competitive in the market with other manufacturers offering more modern conveniences at reasonable prices. The folks at Ford fought to get old Henry to produce something that was good looking and reliable but also more sturdy and easier to drive and thus the Model A was born. This styling would later become one of the most iconic cars of the 1930's, and allowed families to travel longer distances with more comfort. Luckily, but the time the Model A came around, you could actually have it in any color you like. This particular roadster comes in a great dark green, which is paired perfectly with the dark tan interior. It also has had some new features added to make driving this classic roadster even more enjoyable. These upgrades include electric windshield wipers, electric fuel shutoff, battery cutoff switch under the...

1931 Ford Model A

View Description

BACKGROUND: The Model A paved the way for mass-produced vehicles. By the end of the run, Ford had produced almost 5 million Model As. These vehicles could be purchased in a variety of body styles. From sporty roadsters to industrial trucks, the platform was extremely versatile. This particular example is the popular two-door, 5 window coupe, and features a fold-a-way rumble seat behind the cab of the car. 1931 would be the last year for the ever-popular Model A. Most would say the 5 window to be one of the most popular, especially for hot rodders.

However, this fine example is no hot rod. This is a very well cared for original that has been fitted with some aftermarket add ons. First, and fairly common, are the add on turn signals. The next one is a big one, an inline gear reduction unit, a. k. a. an overdrive unit. This will make highway speeds a reality. It engages electronically via a switch located on the steering column. The body is finished in a dark brown that features a very slight metallic flake, the fenders are a solid gloss black, and the wire wheels are finished in yellow. The body features a...

1931 Ford Model A

View Description

This beautiful Ford coupe is powered by the original inline 4-cylinder engine backed by a 3 speed manual transmission. Enjoy getting looks at shows and being in parades with this beautiful Model A. To some at the time, it likely seemed impossible for Ford to follow up the commercial success of the Model T. However, he would immediately hit another home run with the Model A. But while the Model T was produced for the explicit purpose of making the motorcar accessible to everyone, the Model A would be Ford's attempt at combining mass production with exclusivity. The Model A would be an absolute hit with the public. The marriage of aesthetics and mass production has seemed to work as one million examples would be built by February of 1929. By July, just a few months later, production would top two million. Ultimately, by the time the Model A became superseded by the Model B and production ended...

1931 Ford Model A

View Description

This mean green Machine started life out as a 1931 Ford Model A. Then one thing led to another and it now has a tailgate from an old Willys Overland. No fiberglass here, all steel. Power comes from a torquey 400 small block Chevy and is sent through a Turbo 350 automatic transmission. More than enough power for this little guy. The suspension is comprised of coil springs and a triangulated four bar for the rear and up front is a dropped straight axle with disc brakes. Paint is very eye catching and fits this build perfectly. The green paint shines well and is complimented by some serious artsy gold designs and patterns throughout. Inside is pretty bare but what were you expecting? You...

1931 Ford Model A

View Description

This 31 Ford is an original-styled beauty, all the way down to the rumble seat! Powered by an inline flathead 4-cylinder engine, this little cruiser purrs like a sewing Machine. Putting out a tire turning 40 horsepower, this car is more than ready for the next cruise-in or parade. Backing the engine is a 3-speed manual transmission, which makes this '31 Ford a blast to drive! Running through the gears, you feel like a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde. The exterior is a nostalgic shade of Gray, with Black fenders. Add in the 6 yellow steel wire wheels, Chrome accent pieces, and the roll out front window, now you have yourself one cool time capsule! Just looking at the vintage wheels with hub caps and bias ply tires, you're taken back to a simpler time, when owning one of these bad boys really meant something. This Roadster Model A even comes equipped with the original styled 6 volt system. It's hard to believe that simply owning one of these Fords meant having the freedom to go wherever you want, whenever you want. The interior is Brown cloth bench and is in great condition. Designed from the late 1920s, it was built with...
