1947 Chevrolet released a completely redesigned series of trucks known as the Advanced Design Series. The trucks from the 1/2 ton 3100 to the commercial 1 ton 3800 were all exactly the same as far as the cab was concerned. They came in two different styles with the normal 3 window configuration but the true diamond in the rough was the now classic and highly sought after 5 windows. This design gave the cab two extra rounded windows in the cab corners which not only greatly increased visibility but looked absolutely amazing. This 5 window is now ready for today's world with a lot of the amenities that are not even thought about today. Basically what you are looking at is a 47 Chevy on a modern s10 chassis. That-s right the hard part is done, all the fab work is done and done well. Under the hood the strong running rather potent 305 starts with no hesitation and sounds great while rumbling down the road. This street rod has had a ton of time put into the body modifications. From the shaved door handles to the custom taillights, not much on this 47 was left untouched. Finished off in a subtle silver on the bottom and an outrageous purple on the top, you are sure to get a ton of lookers when you pull up at the next car show. Pop the long sleek hood and you will find a SBC 350 that has been built with a small cam to give it a nice throaty sound while a Holley 4 barrel keeps the fuel flowing. Underneath the front end sits a modern 'front clip' that is believed to be from a S-10. The transmission ,which was just currently rebuilt, is a turbo 350 with a shift kit which makes the up shifts very firm. This beautiful burgundy 47 Ford is a stunning example of one of these fat fender cars from the '40s. The good old reliable flathead is still under the hood and puts the power to the pavement through a 3-speed manual. It features a new battery, new tires, new starter, and alternator as well as new distributor, coil, plugs, and wires. The fender skirts look good on this Deluxe with the steel wheels being complimented by dog dish hubcaps. All the chrome on this beauty looks good and when shown outside will blind you if not careful. This really cool retro Truck is a great example on the way things use to be.
