1964 Dodge Polara

View Description

The Dodge Polara 500 was introduced in 1962 to an ever-growing market of buyers looking for a full-size luxury car with a sporty flare with options including bucket seats, center consoles and large powerful engines. It has been considered one of the first large muscle cars. By 1963, the Polara was revised into a larger, sleeker design with redesigned front and rear end features added to the 1964 model. Design changes made the 1964 Polara look longer, wider, and lower than its predecessor. This 1964 Dodge Polara is painted in Tuxedo Black and accented with miles of 60's chrome trim and bumpers. A set of Cragar five-spoke chrome wheels and scooped hood add a finishing touch to this 'mouthwatering' exterior. The inviting black vinyl interior consists of front bucket seats with a center console. Aftermarket tac, temp, volts, and oil gauges have been added. A...

1964 Dodge Polara

View Description

At the turn of the key, you quickly realize that this mean Polara is all about this business. Stuffed under the hood of this Polara lies a huge 540 cubic inch motor that is built with all the parts and with speed in mind. This Polara was built to go in a forward line as fast as possible and does a great job at doing so. The transmission has also been touched up to compensate for all the added power. An automatic 727 reverse valve body transmission is bolted up to that powerful engine and does a great job at getting the power to the Dana 60 rear end that has been equipped with 4:30 gearing to ensure for a very quick takeoff. Onto the interior it has been left mostly untouched but has a few speed parts...

1964 Dodge Polara

View Description

The Polara was introduced in 1960 as Dodge's top-of-the-line, full-size vehicle and turned out to be a successful seller thanks to its sleek styling and chrome-dressed curb appeal. Arguably, it was the right car at the right time. This example looks ready to roll in all Black with a snout-like hood scoop for improved air flow in the engine compartment. This Dodge for sale features what's known as a 'Max Wedge' engine. In short, this vehicle has a 440 CID V8 with a raised block and cross ram dual quad carburetors. It's hard to match the visual impact of this performance-oriented setup. This motor also features Hedman exhaust headers feeding dual exiting pipes and an aluminum radiator for increased cooling capacity. Furthermore, power steering and power front disc brakes assist with the driving experience. For gear selection, this 1964 Dodge uses a period correct transmission- a 727 'TorqueFlite' 3-speed automatic, with the shifter located in the console. Speaking of interior design, the cabin has received a refresh with Black/Red vinyl bucket seats and safety belts for driver and passenger. The factory-style dash has some aftermarket additions surrounding the stock style speedometer with gauges for water temperature, oil pressure, voltage and transmission...

1964 Dodge Polara

View Description

The Dodge Polara was introduced for the 1960 model year as Dodge's top of the line full-size car. After the introduction of the Dodge Custom 880 in 1962, the Polara was moved a step below the full sized best trimmed Dodge model and downsized to their intermediate status. In its various forms, the Polara name was used by Dodge until 1973, when its position was replaced by the Dodge Monaco. The 1964 Polara models received a revised front end and new tail lights to distinguish them from the 1963 model as well as a new rear design which features six small, square-shaped taillights (three on each side) surrounded by an attractive bright trim panel.

This 1964 Dodge Polara 500 is powered by its rebuilt 440 CID V8 Six Pack engine, backed by a 727 3-speed automatic transmission, running to a 8 3/4' rear end with an Auburn Posi unit with 3. 55 gears. The 440 engine is a 1969 440 Six Pack engine and was professionally rebuilt back to stock specifications. The Six Pack carburetor setup was also professionally rebuilt and some extra upgrades under the hood were also added including an aluminum radiator with electric fan, billet accessory brackets. Options...
