The CJ-5 has the distinct honor of being a vehicle that was hard to kill off. This Chevy powered 1965 CJ-5 is a complete hand built frame-up custom restoration job. Powered by a 2000 Chevy 4. 3 L35 motor with a brand new upgraded multi-port injection, custom made exhaust headers, cold air intake system, a custom aluminum radiator and dual exhaust. It-s hooked up to a Borg-Warner T-90 3 speed manual transmission, Dana 18 transfer case and Dana 44 rear and 27 front axles. The original brakes have been replaced by big disk brakes pushed by Wilwood master cylinder and a Jeep YJ Wrangler Brake/Clutch pedals. The hydraulic clutch has a Wilwood clutch cylinder. With steel braided fuel lines and a Mr. Gasket gas pedal. Power steering is hooked up to a Saginaw steering column.

This little cruiser is powered by a 4 cylinder engine backed by a 4 speed manual transmission. The car has been restored some years ago. This Beetle is a dark Burgundy color with a black convertible top. The interior is white and black vinyl which shows very little wear. From the factory this Beetle came with AM radio but it has been replaced with an AM/FM radio with CD player. The black paint is slick and shows well but this bug has more than just good looks. The fiberglass hood was used to shave off a couple more LB's. The 145 series tire on the front VS the 215-s on the back begin to give you an idea of what this -Peoples car- is all about. With the hood having that classic tilt opening up top the story is becoming even more clear, this Beetle was built to run. The built engine has a ton of aftermarket EMPI parts that give this air-cooled 4 enough power to really open any enthusiasts eyes. The split intake with a set of EMPI carbs really catches the eye while the note coming out of the custom exhaust lets everyone know you mean business. The 4-speed transmission is an absolute blast to shift thru with the pattern feeling tight and close just as it should.
