1969 Pontiac GTO
View Description
The GTO is what many consider to be the one that started it all. Beginning in 1964 the GTO was offered as a performance package on Pontiac's intermediate size car the Tempest. It would be a surprise hit and open up the eyes of American Automakers. Move along to 1969 and the Muscle car wars were at their peak. Engines were big and powerful with body designs being sleek and smooth. This 69 is a great example of why everyone was going crazy for them. The body retains the original sheet metal making this 69 a rare find. The black paint is fresh and slick guaranteeing thumbs up at every light you stop at. With the bright work either being replaced or refurbished the exterior can only be explained as spot on. Under the hood is Pontiac's pride and joy 400 small block that many enthusiasts consider to be one of the best things to ever come from Pontiac. This 400 is a strong running small block with enough torque to make you think it-s a big block. The heads were just removed and sent off to a Machine shop for a port and polish with a new set of valves...
