Sometimes when I see a car, I think about that day the first owner was handed the keys and drove it home. I like to think that in 1972 an excited young person was handed the keys to this convertible VW Super Beetle. At this point they dropped the top and turned on the radio and 'Saturday in the park' from Chicago poured out of the speaker as they ran through the gears excited about the future while the sun shone on their face and the warm wind flowed through their hair. The Beetle has an incredibly deep history dating all the way back until the 30s era! With a team lead by Ferdinand Porsche the 'people's car' debuted in 1938. Over the next decade the car became widely known in its home country as the Käfer (German for 'beetle'). With subtle changes over the years across many generations the Beetle is the longest-running and most manufactured car of a single platform ever made! Here we have a '72 Model Super Beetle. If you walked through a parking lot its hard for your gaze not to land on this car. The green paint by Napa is striking! Shows of the lines of the car very well and is in good condition. It is not every day that you can refer to a car as a shed find, but that's exactly where this one was stored for a reported 42 years which puts it on the road from 1972 to 1980. This would back up the claim by the current owner that the mileage is accurate at just over 13,000. Outside of most of the car being original with refurbished parts, the only thing aftermarket is the recently replaced carburetor.
