Cadillac started production of the Eldorado in 1952. In 1976 the Biarritz name once again surfaced as an options package, including a brushed stainless roof applique which mirrored that of the original four-door 1957-1958 Eldorado Broughams. 1976 was to be the final year for the Eldorado convertible and features a 500ci V8 with a 3 speed automatic. It also comes with air conditioning, cruise control, power locks, tilt wheel, power seats, power brakes and power steering. It also has a power trunk lock. Chevrolet entered the truck market competitively in 1918 with the Series 490. The 490 was sold as a chassis only. Leaving the customer to create a truck cab and rear bed. Chevrolet also introduced a one -ton truck ironically called the Chevrolet Model T. It was considered the first purpose- built truck by an automobile manufacturer.
