In 1976, Chevrolet made a few changes to the Corvette from the previous model year to help reduce cabin noise. The first was an air induction modification to the hood that pulled air in above the radiator and into the air cleaner duct reducing wind turbulence noise previously caused by the 'Cowl Induction' hood system. The second was a partial steel underbody that replaced fiberglass to improve the rigidity and also to help shield the cabin from engine and exhaust heat and road noise. This 1976 Chevrolet Corvette is powered by its numbers matching, rebuilt L48 350 CID V8 engine and is backed by a 3-speed automatic transmission. The stock engine was rebuilt, with 11,000 miles on the rebuild, and is topped with an Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake and has a definite horsepower improvement over the stock 180 horsepower rating this car came with from the factory.
