Powered by a strong running 400 CID Pontiac V8 paired with a smooth shifting 3-speed automatic transmission, this Trans-Am is ready to roll. This Firebird also has a rather unique option not often discussed; known as the -Rallye Shifter,- it was essentially a factory ratchet shifter. After numerous blown engines from street racers pushing the gear shift from 1st to neutral on accident, this option was introduced in 1969 and was offered on some vehicles to reduce warranty claims.

Unfortunately, the power of late 70s muscle cars never quite matched the good looks. Knowing this, the seller of the vehicle has opted to pump up the power output with a few subtle upgrades. An Edelbrock performance carburetor and aluminum intake were installed to get air pumping into the engine with ease. Pumping it back out is achieved through a set of long tube headers and a custom exhaust system giving this classic --Bird some bite to match...

This Mark is finished in Jade Green Metallic with a White Vinyl Landau roof. The optional two-tone Luxury Group Interior is Light Jade/ Dark Jade. Make no mistake this car is as original as it gets. Owned by the son of the original owners this car was the one that the little old lady went to church in. Originally purchased as a gift for his wife this car has been special since day one. The car is as it was 40 years ago. The exterior paint is perfect. The interior carpet, seats, dash and headliner are all original and in like new condition. the Mark V with Luxury Group option allowed the buyer to custom design their own Mark. The Luxury Group's 'color name' was derived from the color of the interior. To start the process, the customer had to first decide on the interior trim, whether it be in cloth or leather-with-vinyl. This car was ordered without the hood bird, but if the next owner wants one, they're readily available. This T/A's white exterior paint is all original, but the fender flares have been replaced. It just recently had a full service and everything was checked, and repaired if necessary, to make sure the new owner gets a 2nd Gen. car that's all ready to go. Along with wins at the Pocono 500 and California 500 later in the season, Al Unser Sr. swept the triple crown of Indy Car racing and as of now is the only driver in history to do so. This Pace Car Edition Corvette is also a 25th Anniversary model marking the quarter century milestone for the Corvette production. It wears the original black over silver color scheme which was resprayed about 8 years ago and features some, but not the entire Pace Car decal kit. The silver upholstery has been replaced and looks great along with the rest of the interior. The underside and engine bay have been restored as well and are incredibly clean. The 350 CID L48 V8 engine looks almost new in its engine bay and fires up without hesitation. The TH-350 automatic transmission shifts exactly as it should and performs great.
