Boasting 375HP from the factory when the valet key is switched to full, the ZR1 proved to be a whole different animal than your run of the mill C4 Corvette. Other defining features exclusive to the ZR1 includes a wider stance with 11- wheels tucked into the wheel wells, squared off taillights, better brakes, better steering, and one of the most important is the LT5 sitting under the hood. In a partnership with Lotus, Chevrolet was able to produce this power house of an engine. This all aluminum engine featured 32 valve DOHC heads and was built and assembled by Mercury marine. 1990 was the first year of the C4 ZR1 and to purchase one of these from the factory was nearly double what it would have cost you to get a normal Corvette.
