The El Camino was Chevrolet's answer to Ford's wildly popular Ranchero. Built off the Impala platform the first El Caminos were much bigger and many say nicer. An original mileage barn find, this 1980 El Camino painted in a Burgundy with a matching interior is a great example of what a lot of people are doing with these. They find a body and frame that are in excellent condition and drop a small block in it. Our 1980 El Camino is a numbers matching with a rare 229 CID V6 and a cool 3 speed manual on the floor, connected to a strong 3:42 rear end with posi-traction, again hard to find. One of my favorite areas on this desirable El Camino is the curvature of the bed and rear window. Isn't that awesome? A definite collectible that will surely gain value in the years to come.
