The Dodge brand has been in the automotive industry for well over 100 years. Brothers Horace and John started a Machine shop outside Detroit at the beginning of the 20th century. They were soon supplying parts for the Ford Motor Company. In 1914 the pair formed Dodge Brothers and were building their own line of automobiles. After the untimely death of both brothers, the company was sold of to Dillion, Read & Company and ultimately falling into the hands of the brilliant Walter P. Chrysler when he started his own auto company Chrysler Corporation in the 1920s. The 'Job Rated' trucks proved to be very worthy vehicles for the growing truck market during the midcentury and were seen on farms and city streets all over the country. The B-series trucks came in several different variants. The B1-B were 1/2-ton trucks standard with a 95 hp (71 kW) flathead-Inline-six engine while the B1-C were 3/4-ton trucks with a standard 108 hp (81 kW) flathead-Inline 6 engines. The B-series...
