This car gleams like a jewel in the sun, with the sapphire blue sparkling, and the contrasting white Z28 style stripes jumping out at you. The 1968 Camaro retains the body styling and clean look of the 1967, sans the vent wing windows, as a result of Chevrolet's introduction of 'Astro Ventilation' for 1968.
Under the cowl hood of this Camaro lurks a potent 350 CID V8, topped by a 4BBL carb and aluminum intake. Headers improve exhaust scavenging, and the dual exhaust sounds great. HEI ignition has been added to improve spark delivery and enhance combustion. The chrome air filter element housing and valve cover gaskets add some dress-up, and the addition of air conditioning makes this a true year 'round driver candidate. Out behind the throaty 350 is a 3-speed TH350 automatic transmission, which sends the power to the 10-bolt rear end. The addition of front disc brakes, with their cross-drilled and slotted front rotors, helps improve the stopping capability considerably vs. the 'all drum' Camaros. Wheel hop during hard launches is nearly eliminated by the addition of slapper bars out back, and a beefy stabilizer bar has been added to reduce axle swing during cornering. This car rides...
