This rare Benz is one of only 1,112 Cabriolet vehicles produced between 1958-1960. This particular vehicle features the desirable Bosch Fuel Injection feeding the 2. 2 Liter inline 6 Cylinder adequately and reliably allowing this high quality engine to perform much like a modern vehicle. The 'Ponton' reference of these beautiful cars refers to the wide rounded fenders that made these cars iconic at the time. In 1960 these beautiful convertibles were offered for about the same cost as a Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertible but were absent of power steering, power brakes and an automatic transmission.
