Ford like many companies of that era made the decision to turn into a war manufacturing Machine. Having that said the 1946 Ford Coupe was basically the exact same as the 1942 model under the skin. The exterior took on some subtle changes such as a heavy new grille with horizontal bars and red accents gave the 46 a much more modern feel.
