The 67 -' 72 C series trucks are still the most sought after trucks of that era. The square and chiseled body makes them great low riders huge beds make them great candidates for shop trucks like this one. A shop truck is very similar to rat rod in that there really are no rules it just needs to be a running and driving car with the true emphasis on mechanics. This old 72 has one of the nicest cabs I have seen. Solid and rust free, the underneath of which is as solid as they come. The paint is clean and understated with the flat green giving this truck the perfect attitude. Speaking of attitude the new suspension upfront and the drop in the rear get the altitude perfect on this truck giving it the perfect stance. It's amazing to think that in 1939 this car would've been sold for $684-$883 brand new. That barely buys a set of tires today! This car has spent the majority of its life in Texas and was recently delivered to our St Louis showroom. Under the hood is a smooth running 216 CID inline 6 cylinder engine. The engine was rebuilt and has only traveled 944 miles since. Inline 6 cylinder engines are considered by many to be some of the most reliable engines ever. The I6 is inherently balanced which makes for a smooth power delivery and a hearty power plant known for longevity. Like most American auto manufacturers, Plymouth and Desoto returned to peacetime projects after World War II with somewhat upgraded 1942 models, though in DeSoto-s case the changes were fairly significant. For one, the 1946 Desoto lost the handsome hidden headlights, which meant front fenders had to be reworked, and the waterfall grille was modified to incorporate park lights. Rear fenders covered more of the wheels, and bumpers were wrapped further around. Mechanically, some wartime expertise was incorporated by including new aluminum pistons and a rotary oil pump with airplane oil filtration for the traditional 236 cubic inch, 109-bhp L-head six-cylinder engine. A three-speed transmission was standard, but the buyer could vouch for an optional fluid drive, otherwise known as the Tip-Toe Hydraulic Shift. The four Deluxe and seven Custom models would change little in the next three years, until the full-width body was introduced during the 1949 model year in December. Sales had risen steadily, with 62,368 cars in 1946, 82,232 in 1947 and 93,369 sold in 1948. The most monumental model in this period was the ubiquitous taxi, seen in every musical at the time. First introduced in 1940 as the Series Sixty-Two was one of many models Cadillac brought to the market to appeal to various segments. The Deville would start as a trim level of the Series 62. The Series 62 would see 7 generations up until the early 60s. The Deville was segmented as its own model in 1959 and would see 8 generations of its own up until 2005. This model is a '56 Deluxe Sedan Deville and is an eye catcher! The Pink paint with the white roof coupled with the chrome bumpers and trim really stand apart. She is not without her blemishes but she is a nice driver. The black leather interior looks sharp in contrast and is in good order. Run your hands around the wheel and take in the iconic dash and you are swept back in time. Under the hood is a rebuilt 365ci V8 backed by a rebuilt Hydromatic Transmission.
