The early 80's was the Mecca of the 'Neoclassic'. Not really replicas but flashy touring cars inspired by classics from the 1930's. Long Hoods, flowing fenders, running boards and of course convoluted exhaust tubes snaking through the sides of the hoods. With flashy names like Excalibur's, Moselles and Clenetes the market was soon flooded and the fad seemed to die off. In the early 90's a company in a little town in Indiana decided to bring back this excitement and coach build 21 examples. These rather higher end builds would be known as ARCHERS. This particular one was number 21 and was actually saved for the owner of the company who passed away before the car was completed. Built on 78 Fiat 124 spider chassis and components from a Lincoln Towncar this Classic rides likes a new modern car. Laying underneath the long split hood is a very healthy 355 crate motor that even has a set 'Archer' inlaid valve covers. Keeping with the reliability aspect a turbo 350 transmission linked up to a Ford 9 inch keeps this classy ride going down the road smoothly...

The interior was also completely refurbished using new wood, carpets, seats and all trim and rubber components, heat and noise shielding has been used in all the interior area. Fiat released their first Spider model in 1966. This small, lightweight roadster was a direct competitor for cars like the Mgb or the Triumph TR6. The Fiat had quite a few items that were technologically more advanced than the British sports cars of the time. All Spiders had coil springs in all four corners, where some competitors had leaf springs. They also had a twin overhead cam four-cylinder which was a rev-happy and peppy little gem.
