Built in a growing market where power was the most important necessity of any car, the GT500KR is ready to impress. Documented with a Marti Report and pictures of the block and transmission, and ready to show off, this beast is definitely the real deal. With the success of the GT350, and the GT500, Shelby had decided to build what was considered the fastest and most well-optioned Mustang to date, with an astonishing 335 Horsepower from the factory, that was later discovered to be closer to 410 Horsepower, you can be sure that by turning the key, you are nearly unleashing hell on the rest of the cars on the road. The KR badge stood for 'King of the Road', and of course for a good reason. The 428 Cobra Cobra Jet was designed from the factory with the heads off of the race-built 427 engine from the prior year, equipped with bigger valves and bigger intake ports. The 428 Cobra Cobra Jet engine in this period correctly restored beauty is the correct date coded and correctly marked 428 Cobra Cobra Jet Block and all it's engine components and a very hard to find item since the KR's were only built for 6 months....

This is for the serious Mustang collectors out there. For sale in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom is an investment-grade 1993 Ford Mustang Cobra R. For 1993, Ford wanted to send off the third generation Mustang, also known as the Fox Body, properly. To commemorate the end of a generation, Ford-s Special Vehicles Team (SVT) created the penultimate Fox Body Cobra: The Cobra SVT Cobra R. Power and transmission options were the same as that found in the standard Cobra. What differentiated the Cobra R was a dedicated effort to weight savings, with an absence of a radio, speakers, wiring and antenna, A/C, foglights, sound deadening, rear seat, nor any power options with manual steering, manual windows, manual door locks, manual mirrors, and manual seats. All in all, roughly 450lbs were saved from the base Cobra.

The Cobra name has long been synonymous racing, performance, and motor sports. In 1962 Carrol Shelby teamed up with Ford for their racing engines and AC from Britain that developed a body suitable to cradle and V8 engine and hit the track. From there a racing legend was born! In the 1960s there few cars that had the ability to compete with a Shelby Cobra in speed and brute power. This was proved in 1966 when one of Carrol Shelby's Ford powered cars won the 24 hours of Lemans race, beating out Italian rivel Ferrari.
