For the 1955 model year, an all-new version of the F-Series made its debut. Increased dimensions, improved engines, and an updated chassis were features of the second generation, and the naming scheme change for the F-Series remains in place to the present day. The half-ton F1 became the F100 (partially influenced by the North American F100 Super Sabre jet fighter). This 1955 F100 has undergone a radical restoration. It is now powered by a peppy roller cam-equipped 302 H. O. V8 that's backed by a AOD (4-speed) automatic transmission.
