The Galaxie was introduced in 1958 as a 59 model with a luke warm reception from the public. Expected to be a competitor to GM-s Impala the car fell short of sales expectations. The engine selection was broad with plenty of options to choose from yet sales were mediocre at best. It wasn-t until the mid-year release of the all new fastback in 1963 did the Galaxie really take off. The new style was loved by all and the car would see a dramatic increase in sales. This 63 and half is a great example of why people loved these cars so much. The slick styling is apparent with the long and swooping rear glass gradually falling into the trunk it is classic --s at tis beat. The Rangoon red paint with the white top is correct for the car with the helping to exaggerate the fastback styling. The wire hubcaps look great and are another classic reminder of what the 60-s was all about. Pop the hood and the 390 motor looks right at home in the engine bay. The chrome valve covers are a nice touch while giving the engine a little shine. Matched up to an automatic transmission...
