1929 Ford Model A

View Description

-Rat Rod- is: a semi-restored Hot Rod that is intentionally left with the appearance of being incomplete.

The Rat Rod is created of the thought of awaking a (pre-WW II) vehicle from the dead and embracing its natural form of deterioration, rust and all, while the Hot Rod is immaculately restored and customized for high performance. Rat Rods grow old gracefully while Hot Rods go under expensive cosmetic procedures to appear like new. Rat Rods are daily drivers better left unwashed, while Hot Rods only come out to play in shows and require the high maintenance of wax and polish. This Model A Rat Rod has made it way from Arizona to Indiana. The frame is 1929 Model A, it has been boxed in critical areas for extra strength. The roof of the cab is from a 1963 Chevrolet Corvair. The front grill is from a 1947 Studebaker Grill. The dual Stromberg carburetors are dressed out with a 1958 Cadillac air cleaner. The Strombergs feed a 1953 331 CID Chrysler Hemi V8. No fancy chrome here, just an old set of stamped steel Chrysler Hemi valve covers with just the right amount of patina. Zoomy style headers take care of the...

1930 Ford Model A

View Description

For the last decade the patina look has been growing in popularity in the collector car world. Starting off strictly in the Rat Rod world patina was basically a way to make hot rod cheap. Paint jobs are generally the most expensive thing when it comes to building hot rod. To everyone's surprise the thing that people liked the most about these creations was the faded and not necessarily rusted but carefully preserved exteriors. Created after multiple paint jobs before being basically left for dead, the paint will begin to peel revealing the different layers and colors. Many believe these shows and tell a cars history while looking pretty neat doing it. This Model A has been given this look by a new technique which gives you the look while giving it a finish that enables you to keep it clean. Covered with a couple different colors from a grey base to the red popping through and a dominant black overall the job is very convincing. Cleared over and sealed with a gloss finish the Model A will look this way for years to come. The red spoked wheels look great and help in bringing the red out. Open the door...

1929 Ford Model A

View Description

The Model A was Ford's successor to the Model T. The Model A line was produced from 1927 to 1931. The Ford Model A (also colloquially called the 'A-Model Ford' or the 'A'), was the second huge success for the Ford Motor Company, after its predecessor, the Model T. First produced on October 20, 1927, but not sold until December 2, it replaced the venerable Model T, which had been produced for 18 years. This sweet ride is optioned with the hard to come by (and very desirable) -Rumble Seat-. Powered by its original 201 CID 4-cylinder engine backed by a 3-speed manual transmission, she'll feel right at home in parades and cruises! The car is shown in a nice tan color paint that is in good condition. The black vinyl top is a nice feature and contrasts with the tan paint very well. The running boards, bumpers, rear spare tire, glass, lenses, all...

1929 Ford Model A

View Description

The Model A paved the way for mass produced vehicles. By the end of the run, Ford had produced almost 5 million Model As. These vehicles could be purchased in a variety of body styles. From sporty roadsters to industrial trucks, the platform was extremely versatile. This particular example is the popular two door sedan. There-s seating for 4 and plenty of windows for airflow. Even the front wind screen can be tilted open to let in fresh air. Under the hood is a simple flat head 4-cylinder engine. It uses a 3-speed manual transmission and transfers power to the rear axle. These cars are not speed Machines, but they are torquey and fun...
