1968 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet GT

View Description

Not only is this a rarity in its own right by being a GT, but it is rarer yet because the 5th digit in the VIN is an R. That-s right! This is the famous -R- Code 428 Cobra Cobra Jet Mustang GT. 1968 was the first year for the 428 engine offering in a Mustang, and it was only offered in the last half of the year. The shock towers were modified to fit this monster engine along with beefed up suspension with staggered rear shocks to put the power to the ground. Let-s get to the drivetrain of this powerful pony! The 428 was conservatively rated at 335 horsepower for insurance purposes, but independent testing has shown true output to be around 410 - 450 horsepower! Behind that is the legendary Toploader 4 speed manual transmission, and the factory Ford 9- with 3. 50:1 posi gears. The engine is fed through a hood scoop with a functional butterfly on the air cleaner giving this car a ram air effect into the 735 CFM Holley 4 barrel carburetor. So, how rare is this Mustang? Well, as the Elite Marti Report breaks it down, it is a 1 of 1 car. There...

1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1

View Description

This isn't your everyday Mach 1, this is one rare and documented '70. According to the Ford invoice this car was build by and sold to the Ford Motor Company Dearborn Stamping Plant and did not get shipped off to a dealership when new. Usually this would have meant it was a special order for a higher up employee to at this plant. According to the Deluxe Marti Report, of the 1,130 Mach 1's with a 428 Cobra Cobra Jet engine paired to C-6 Select Shift Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission, only 26 were white with black Mach 1 Bucket seats and equipped with rear deck spoilers, of these only 1 was ordered with a collapsible spare tire and an AM radio(0F05R146815 is that 1)! This car was actually produced on December 18th, 1969, one day ahead of schedule. The current owner kept the original paint color 'M' white, but it is painted with base coat/clear coat now. All of the stripes and emblems '428' painted correct mat black as well. According to the current owner the restore was done by 1st Coast Auto from about 2014-2019. The current owner also is providing a build sheet, original Eminger Report, and Deluxe Marti Report. Additional options ordered on...

1969 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet Mach 1

View Description

Many car enthusiasts will tell you that the 1969 Fastback Mustang was the pinnacle of muscle cars and this one has a red hot cherry on top, or more to the point, under the hood. Lurking under the long hood is none other than a 428 CID V8 Cobra Cobra Jet! This power plant was rated by the factory to produce 335 HP and 440 feet pound of torque. The important thing to remember about this period is that the factory estimates for horsepower and torque were conservative as insurance companies were making owning a muscle car more difficult with raising rates for these beauties. Backing the 428 Cobra Cobra Jet is a 4-speed close ratio manual transmission. What I believe is a nine inch rear axle hold a set of 3. 50 ring and pinion and a Traction lok posi carrier. The beautiful lines of this 69 fastback Mach 1 for sale are covered in Acapulco blue with the classic black out hood treatment. The shaker poking through the hood had Cobra Cobra Jet in chrome script letting the chump in the car next to you at the light know you mean business. According to the build sheet and Marti report this car was...

1965 Ford Mustang

View Description

This Pony represents the trifecta of early pony-car desirability by combining its convertible body style with the K-code 289 High Performance V-8 engine, 4-speed manual, and image-rich GT Equipment Group. The car is equipped with the K-code's requisite 4-speed manual transmission and the optional Dcor Interior Group, better known as the 'Pony' interior for its emBossed running horses in the seat upholstery. Restored by Performance Motors, this Vintage Burgundy convertible is an accurate representation of a showroom 1965 Mustang, right down to what appears to be the K-code 289 CID Hi-Po V-8 engine that it left the San Jose manufacturing line in May of 1965 with. Even its FoMoCo seat belts are dated January 1965. A two-time National First Prize award winner from the Antique Automobile Club of America, this Mustang is also nicely optioned with an AM/FM radio, Rally-Pac clock and tachometer, floor console, Prismatic day/night rearview mirror, remote-control outside mirror, power convertible top and styled steel wheels. Concours detailed with 1965-specific black paint and chrome valve covers, the 289 Hi-Po engine was rated by Ford at 271 HP thanks to a solid-lifter cam,...
