1936 Dodge D2
View Description
John and Horace Dodge were 2 brothers who moved to Detroit at the turn of the century. They began making transmissions for the OLDS Company until Henry Ford heard about the two. In 1903 he was so impressed that he awarded them the contract to supply all the drive trains for his line of vehicles. By 1914 though the relationship had eroded and the two brothers built the first Dodge for the public. It was an instant success and the Dodge Motor Company was born. This untouched all original 36 Dodge D2 is in remarkable condition for its age. The original Straight 6 is in wonderful shape and starts without any hesitation. Rated from the factory at an amazing 87 horsepower this 6 cylinder was a powerhouse in its day. With it sporting all of its original hardware including a generator the 6 volt system is still in great working order....
