In 1990, Chevrolet introduced the first high-performance racing focused truck of the big three automakers a high-performance variant of the GMT400 under the SS emblem called the 454SS. It was available only as a 2WD half-ton regular cab short box in Onyx Black only with a garnet red interior. The 454SS was powered by a 454 cu in V-8 producing 230 hp and 385 lb-ft. A 3-speed automatic transmission, a. k. a. Turbo Hydra-Matic 400, and 3. 73 rear axle ratio added to the truck's performance. In it original condition, this truck was a solid performer, but would soon be overshadowed by its rival competitor, the Ford F150 Lightning. Due to its better fuel economy, and lower base price, the Lightning was considered the better bang for the buck. If you-re worried about fuel economy, then this is not the truck for you! A new, more modern look came in 1967, along with a new nickname: 'Action Line'. It was with this revision of the C/K truck that General Motors began to add comfort and convenience items to a vehicle line that had previously been for work purposes alone. Updated styling features for the 1967 Chevy Pickup trucks came with new body sheet metal that helps fight rust and a pickup box made of double-walled steel. The majority of 10 and 20 series Chevrolet trucks from 1967 to 1972 were built with a coil spring trailing arm rear suspension, which greatly improved the ride over traditional leaf springs. The 1972 models were virtually identical to 1971 models, with the only change being the rear view mirror was glued to the windshield instead of being bolted to top of the cab, and metal or vinyl-covered flat door panels were no longer available; all trim level door panels were molded plastic with integral armrests and wood grain inserts on Cheyenne and Sierra trim levels. This Longbed C10 looks amazing. It underwent a rotisserie style restoration in 2007, in which new panels and a new bed were installed. Options for this 1977 Chevrolet C10 Custom Deluxe include: Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio with CD Player, Cruise Control, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Tilt Wheel, Seat Belts, Custom Cloth Interior, Raised White Letter Radial Tires, and Aluminum/Alloy Wheels. The odometer reads 22,437, which is believed to be the original miles to the truck. Powering this 1977 C10 is a mammoth 454 CID big block V8 engine, which is believed to be the original engine. The 454 V8 was gone through and rebuilt along with the restoration in 2007. The Turbo 400 automatic transmission, also rebuilt in 2007, sends the power to the 12 bolt rear end flawlessly. Built in 1984 and restored over the course of a few years the receipt book has compiled quite a lot. That book is included with this vehicle to prove the money that has been spent. The paint and body was done a few years ago to refresh the outside. A spray in bedliner was added to protect the bed as well as keeping it pleasing to the eye yet useful.
