Chevrolet Corvette (C1) is the first generation of the Corvette sports car produced by Chevrolet. It was introduced late in the 1953 model year, and produced through 1962. It is commonly referred to as the 'solid-axle' generation, as the independent rear suspension did not appear until the 1963 Stingray. The Corvette was rushed into production for its debut model year to capitalize on the enthusiastic public reaction to the concept vehicle, but expectations for the new model were largely unfulfilled. [2] Reviews were mixed and sales fell far short of expectations through the car's early years. The program was nearly canceled, but Chevrolet would ultimately stay the course.

This gorgeous 1958 Corvette has been owed by the same owner for the last 20 plus years before going through its full frame off restoration. What began as a stock 1952 Henry J turned into a 3-year complete customization project. The custom build of this amazing Henry J started with stripping the body down and replacing the original frame with a custom powder-coated Art Morrison chassis. The dash, doors and rear area were reinforced with steel tubing and sheet metal formed as covers. The hidden taillights, front and rear rolled pans, frenched headlights and shaved handles (inside and out) compose the major body mods, then it was treated to a smooth coat of Tangelo Pearl paint from House Of Kolor. The front grill was made from the original, with the turn signals hidden to match the taillights. A set of Budnik Diamond Light wheels (18-inch front, 20-inch rear) lend an aggressive look, which is accentuated by the cars low stance.

Work on the interior included replacing the rear seat with a custom speaker housing, with a custom console flowing forward and incorporating a touch screen DVD stereo sound system with 1,800 watts, more speakers, and controls for the Air Ride suspension system. This Colombia born Toyota was a ranch vehicle before it was restored in 2016. It underwent a frame off restoration after it was picked up in Colombia and I must tell you this truck is stunning. This two owner Toyota FJ43 was repainted to the original Toyota code 464 beige that is printed on the data plate. Sandblasted chassis and axle housings followed by electrostatic primer and paint for chassis, transmission housings, drive shafts, rear drums, under-body protections, leaf springs, starter, air filter housing, brake booster, license plate brackets, leaf springs, and other misc. parts. The paint used was PPG, two-coat process with clear and complete re-zinc plated hardware. Toyota made a handful of 1984-s outside of the US in the FJ40 and FJ43 wheelbases. Personally, this is one of only 2 I have ever seen listed. The -luxury dash- you see was only made by Toyota late-1982 through this 1984 year, so those parts are also very rare. Under the hood this Toyota FJ43 is packing an Inline 6 cylinder 3. 8L engine tied to a 5-speed manual transmission and is four-wheel drive.
