The '63 Corvette Coupe is better known around the world as the 'Split Window' Corvette. 1963 was the first year for the 2nd generation Corvette, and the coupe was the first non-convertible Corvette offered to buyers. Although GM's top brass and Zora-Arkus Duntov disliked the split window because the pillar that split the back glass impeded rearward visibility. As a result, many Corvette coupe buyers removed the split windows, cut the 'spine', and installed a single backglass. Since this happened to a good number of the '63 Corvette coupes, those that didn't receive the 'surgery' have become very valuable, as the surviving intact coupes dwindled in number. The owner and builder of this gorgeous coupe has been awarded high honors in various NCRS and Concours events, as well as Bloomington Gold recognition for numerous Corvettes that he has restored and is recognized as a 'Master Corvette Restorer'. Under the 'Stinger' hood of this beast is a Chevrolet LS3 that would have been found in a more modern C5 Vette. Upon starting the engine, everyone around can hear the deep, throaty sounds of the side pipes. This swap not only provides much more power and drive-ability to the car, but it also makes servicing much easier considering that all of the parts needed for the engine are still mass produced by companies for GM. As for the engine itself, it runs very strong and brings as much power to the car as a big block would have back in the day (hence the big block hood). Sending that modern power to the rear end is a five speed manual transmission that shifts firmly through the gears with an extremely short throw shifter. This car having a modern power-train, of course it has disc brakes all around that provide a good initial bite along with firm stopping power thanks to a Willwood master cylinder.

This Camaro has been through over 5 years of thoughtful and painstaking build-out. Initially a mild restomod process was planned; but, as most car people know, things can go from mild to wild in just a few beats. According to its trim plate, it was originally LeMans Blue, however, it was completely stripped and treated to its nearly completely blacked-out look. With nearly $72K in paint and bodywork receipts documenting the extent of the time-consuming work involved in getting it to this awesome looking result, it's evident that its owner spared little expense in achieving the outcome he was looking for. Starting with a very clean 1969 Camaro, this black beauty was taken down to bare metal before the transformation began. A 6. 2L GM LS3 crate engine and a 4L85E 4-speed automatic transmission were selected for the powertrain, making this a 'daily-driver-ready' sled. However, in keeping with the desire to have a more unique look (than most LS-based restomod projects do in the engine bay), an Edelbrock 71413 LS3 Cross-Ram intake manifold was chosen for the top end; plus, twin custom-fabbed cold air intakes were built for it.
