The 280C was a 2 door coupe variant of the W114 chassis sedans. The coupe variants featured styling which was sleek yet understated at the same time. This example was of the first year of the slightly restyled body with a lower hood line and broader grill than before. While the W114 chassis dates back to 1968 the design was kept fresh with the removal of quarter windows in the front door and Mercedes soon to be signature ribbed (for your safety) tail lights. The W114 chassis, much like all Mercedes-Benz models from this era, is an extremely durable and reliable car.
This example is an unrestored survivor and truly does show how well these cars hold up with simple routine maintenance. Cosmetically this car is in very fine shape. Its original silver paint still shows very well and proves what masters of paint Mercedes-Benz was at the time. Complementing the Silver paint is a tan interior giving the entire car...
