This series MG was produced from 1962 thru 1980. The MG is a front engine rear wheel drive four cylinder backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. Weighing only approximately 2400 pounds the MG-s 1. 8-liter four cylinder offers spritely performance and excellent fuel economy. This series MG also featured front disc brakes and rear drums.

The Special Edition was only available from 1979 to 1980. A total of 6668 were produced during those two years. All Special Edition models were black and included special wheels, front air dam, luggage rack, and other exterior and interior trim pieces unique to the Special Edition MGB.
