Avantis can trace their rich heritage back to Studebaker. When the Avanti was introduced it was largely touted as being 'one of the more significant milestones of the postwar industry. ' Avanti broke 29 speed records on the salt flats becoming the fastest production car in the world for its time! After Studebaker shut down the plant in 1963 Avanti continued and eventually under Avanti Motor Co. from GM all the way until 2006. Here we have an '88 model. The white paint looks in good shape. The black leather interior is comfortable and in good order. Condition you would expect to see from a 1-owner. Under the hood is a 305ci V8 mated to an automatic transmission. The mileage at 49k is believed actual, with its ownership and condition it's probably true. As stated, the owner acquired this car when it was new 34 years ago.
