The Mainline was the entry-level car for Ford through 1956. The car\'s appearance was much like the 1955 model with some revisions to the grille and trim, but there were major changes inside the vehicle. Safety had become more of a concern and seatbelts were introduced for the first time. A padded dash, sun visor and a safer steering wheel were part of a program to improve safety in the event of an accident.
