Thunderbirds are famous throughout Ford Motor history. New for the 2nd generation was 4 seats and a longer wheelbase. This helped tremendously for sales and built on the momentum from previous generations. Also new for the second generation was a 352 cubic inch V8 engine. For our metric friends this is a 5. 8L engine. This has the easy cruising 3 speed automatic transmission as well as the optional convertible top - the convertible top does not currently work. Also new for the 1960 model was a new grille and minor style changes through, namely triple taillights to mimic the styling of the Impala. Despite record breaking sales year over year, they went with a complete redesign in 1961. This is the best...
