The 1969 Camaro is one of the most iconic cars of all time. With sleek body lines and a look that is unmistakable the car has become a platform for some of the most radical builds ever seen. Starting life as a solid rust free car it was completely tore down and taken a part. The next step was to figure out exactly what to do with the car. After going back and forth with just your basic run of the mill restoration or a full on custom, the decision was made to go all in and build the smoothest cleanest 69 I have ever seen. The body alone has over 4000 man hours in metal work. Not wanting anything to stand out, the drip rails were removed as well as the door handles giving the body an even smoother appearance. The rear three piece spoiler has been turned into part of the car with the trunk lid now being one piece and the sides molded directly into the quarter panels. Under the hood is an all-aluminum LS1 that has been linked up to at 56 6 speed transmission that handles the power perfectly. The clutch is hydraulic making for a great pedal feel and making for effortless shifting. The red paint is slick and has an orange tint when in the right lighting. Here we have a rather rare 69 Z28 with a date code correct 302 CI Chevrolet V8. The Z28 was the only car Chevrolet ever put a 302 in and that makes this that much more appealing. The motor is not the original from the car, but is a real 'DZ' 69 Z28 302 motor with only 1,000 miles or so since it was rebuilt. The transmission is the original 4-speed manual that came in this car and was also gone through at that time. It appears that a dealer may have added the RS package, trim tag confirms X77 code for a real Z28. Seeing the success of their competitors, Chevrolet decided to dream up a car that could go toe to toe with the mustang and what came out would become a legend.
