The LS1 engine has been a game changer for sure! The Foxbody Mustang had been having it way with underpowered 305 V8 Camaro-s for years. Ford decided to throttle it a bit with their 4. 6-liter V8 in the SN95 platform and Boom! Chevy ups their game with the LS package. It would take the higher horsepower Cobra V8 Mustangs to compete with these Camaro-s. Sadly, GM made a strange decision to cease production on the Camaro in 2002. In 1984 Chevrolet introduced 'the Camaro that thinks it's a Corvette' or the IROC-Z. IROC-Z or the International race of champions was a sanctioned SCCA event that matched up the best of the best auto racers in identically prepared cars. Although it was a complete fan favorite it had sponsorship issues beginning in 2006 and would end its storied run a year later.
