The Mach 1 was option was released in late 1968 as a 69 model. Available only in the -SportsRoof- body style sales were so good that it retired the GT badge which would not be seen again until 1982. This example is what you would expect from a car that has been maintained over the last 45+ years. Ordered new from the factory with the bright blue metallic paint this 72 has been in the same family ever since. The rear spoiler gives the car some attitude while the Mach 1 emblem in the middle lets everyone know you mean business. This 27 is a great looking car that has a ton of time and money spent on it. The builder decided he wanted something different when he started the project so instead of using your normal run of the mill SBC he opted for a great looking 250 CID straight 6. Since he planned on driving it the estimated 30+ MPG was an added bonus. Once he received his straight 6 motor he decided to outfit it with a set of Offenhauser heads that give this straight 6 an amazing amount of low end grunt. The icing on the cake of you will is the great looking tri carb set up. This set up not only looks amazing but is another way that this 27 stands out from the crowd. With the engine complete the next decision was what transmission? Sure you could go with the typical 3 speed automatic but that-s not really 'different'. A new 'luxury' model became available starting for 1969, available in only the hardtop body style. The 'Grande' featured a soft ride, 55 pounds of extra sound deadening, as well as deluxe interior with simulated wood trim. It was popular with buyers with 22182 units sold through 1969. This 1970 model is sporting the owner stated original-numbers matching 302 CI V8 along with the C4 trans. The owner states that the car has a lot of recent work done with: New Brakes, New Rims and Tires, New Exhaust, New Electric Fuel Pump, New Gas Line and Tank and New carpet. This triple black convertible is simply gorgeous. In the Mustang world, triple black is where it-s at! The Cobra SVT Cobra was a high-performance version of the Ford Mustang, considered as top-of-the-line as it was positioned above the Mustang GT and Mach 1 models during its era of production. Starting with the 1996 model year, every Cobra engine was hand-assembled by two-person teams at the Ford Romeo Engine Plant in Romeo, Michigan. This little pony has just the right look and stance. First off, the big gaudy bumpers have been replaced with a more tasteful set of 1973 front and rear bumpers. New emblems were also sourced to give the exterior of this Maverick a nice clean and crisp look. The original color for this Maverick is Polar White and has been repainted back to the factory color with the engine bay being painted to match. More on the engine bay here in a sec! To get the just right, low in the weeds stance, the Maverick has been fitted with a Mustang II front suspension. A nice set of American Racing Torque Thrust polished aluminum wheels have been mounted to this wild horse. Back to the engine bay! Following the popular Hot Rod trend of the glory days, this Maverick has been built Ford Tough with Chevy Stuff.
