In the early days of the Hotrod world the go to engine of choice was Ford's flathead V8. Anybody who was somebody had a flathead and that somebody can be you! Finished in a wonderful shade of blue and adorned with all the proper chrome trimmings it sure does catch the eye! The interior is upholstered in a light brown and makes the car feel completely pedestrian. However, once you step on the gas you realize there is nothing pedestrian under the hood! The engine bay is truly a sight to behold with as many shiny bits as you can imagine. The Flathead V8 is out of a 53 Mercury and features some nice extras such as Offenhauser Heads & Manifolds, Edelbrock carb, and dual exhaust headers. This 1969 F100 Ford Ranger Explorer is extremely unique and rare. It is very rare to find a truck in this condition. The paint is a special-order code D which is Tuscan gold. What is even more rare is to find a Ranger with a factory added Explorer Package. In 1975 the 428 Police Interceptor motor from a Virginia ATF (Alcohol-Tobacco-Firearms) car was added, they put a Transgo towing shift kit in the C6 Transmission. They also split the original wheels and widened to run wider tires. Thankfully, the wheels still retain the original and rare explorer caps. The motor was pulled again in 2014 to re-gasket the Block and all internals were documented and confirmed to be a low mileage original 405 T code, 428 Police Interceptor Motor. Also in 2014, they had the original starter and alternator rebuilt. All new gaskets, seals, freeze out plugs, brake hoses, radiator hoses, spark plugs and wires, timing chain and tires were all new. The California Special edition was originally introduced in 1968 as a limited run special edition. This was an appearance package which could be added to a Mustang GT. The package included Fog lights, hood pins, side scoops, a deck lid wing, and Thunderbird tail lights. Less than 5,000 of the 1968 GT/CS were produced making them rare and sought after. Ford paid homage to these 1968s by bringing back the package in the late 2000s. The new version of the package adds the following to a Mustang GT: two tone leather seats, unique floor mats, side stripes, side scoops, rolled exhaust tips, unique front and rear bumpers, and 17' polished wheels. This 2009 has seen some additional upgrades such as Foose wheels and tasteful engine bay dressings. This one is painted in Performance White over a two toned tan and black leather interior.
