The D Series shared its AD platform with the Dodge Ramcharger/Plymouth Trailduster twins. Dodge D Series trucks were powered by a humongous array of optional engines during its lifetime, ranging from the 170 CID Slant Six to some serious big block power, buyers had a wide variety of engines to choose from. However, in 1962 the available engines were the 170 and 225 CID Slant Sixes, and a 318 CID V8. This one is equipped with the 225 CID Slant Six, which is backed by a 3-speed manual transmission that shifts smoothly through the gears. One nifty add-on that isn't found often on these vintage rides is the addition of electric air conditioning (not blowing cold at check-in, however).
