The Iconic Camaro was introduced in 1966 for the 1967 model year. Being designed by General Motors to directly compete with the Ford Mustang. During its long successful run Chevrolet has sold more than five million Camaros. The first-generation Camaro offered trim packages including a standard, Super Sport and Z28 model was added in the later half of 1967. The second-generation Camaro was produced from 1970 through 1981. It was a longer, lower, and wider model than its predecessor Considered by many to be more of a 'Drivers Car' than the first generation.
