This restored, all steel (minus front grill housing) coupe is coated in a beautiful, eye popping purple gloss paint with some serious airbrush work on the trunk. The trunk has a scene from the 'Happy Days' era which depicts a young couple dancing in front of a nightly hangout spot. The custom exterior is complimented by a great looking charcoal cloth interior. The street rod is powered by a 350 CID V8 engine and Turbo 350 automatic transmission. Thunderbolts were special edition factory built big block race cars built in 1964 featuring a 427 CID V8 that produced 425 horsepower, lightweight fiberglass hood, and no frills optioning. Ford produced an even 100 Thunderbolts, 49 were manual transmissions and 51 were automatic transmissions, just enough for Ford to qualify for the 1964 NHRA Super Stock title. These Fairlanes were built in the Dearborn, MI plant as Fairlane 500 2 door sedans. Chevrolet rolled out the first Corvette in 1953. Available at the time in just Polo white, and with a rather modest Blue Flame 6 cylinder engine, the Corvette saw many improvements over the years. The Corvette received many face lifts and thousands of performance improvements from that first '53. To commemorate the name, the improvements, and 50 years of an American Icon, Chevrolet released 7,547 50th Anniversary Edition cars in 2003. This special edition carried a $5,000 premium over the standard cars. The special edition received Anniversary Red Metallic paint on the exterior, and shale leather upholstery inside with '50th Anniversary' embroidering. This 1950 Chevrolet 2 door Styleline Deluxe Business Coupe wears a slightly different finish than most street rods you'll find. This exterior finish was painted by nature and many years sitting in the Texas sun. 'Rat Rods' or patina finished hot rods are becoming quite popular. There are paint shops that are faking surface rust and intentionally scuffing paint to emulate age. This car is not that. This is a 1950 Chevy which has been naturally weathered on the exterior and has the type of finish other people are trying to copy. Don't let the exterior make you think this is a rusty car, the floors, frame, trunk, and body panels are nice and solid as the car spent most of its life in sunny Texas. This 1955 Ford F100 has a look unlike any other. The first thing you'll notice is the glossy coat of Pink Pearl paint with custom side graphics.
