This one was just repainted the original unmistakable color scheme of black over silver over a silver leather interior. Powering this original Pace Car is the numbers matching L82 350 V8. The L82 was rated at 220 horsepower vs. the standard L48 that was rated at 185 horsepower, unless you lived in California and then you only got 175 horsepower. This one has been tastefully upgraded with an Edelbrock chrome intake manifold, ZZ4 heads, mild camshaft, Holley 650 and coated long tube headers to let the engine breath more fuel and air and exhaust the burnt fuel and air at a faster rate. Inside is the original Silver interior that looks good only on this car. I can't think of any other cars equipped with silver leather, but the Corvette pulled it off and did it very well. Along with wins at the Pocono 500 and California 500 later in the season, Al Unser Sr. swept the triple crown of Indy Car racing and as of now is the only driver in history to do so. This Pace Car Edition Corvette is also a 25th Anniversary model marking the quarter century milestone for the Corvette production. It wears the original black over silver color scheme which was resprayed about 8 years ago and features some, but not the entire Pace Car decal kit. The silver upholstery has been replaced and looks great along with the rest of the interior. The underside and engine bay have been restored as well and are incredibly clean. The 350 CID L48 V8 engine looks almost new in its engine bay and fires up without hesitation. The TH-350 automatic transmission shifts exactly as it should and performs great.
