Even a bigger guy has enough space to enjoy this car. The car comes with a hardtop. The Triumph Spitfire was introduced at the London Motor Show in 1962. The Spitfire was designed as an open top or convertible roadster from the outset and thus the chassis is reinforced for additional ridgedity via structural components within the bodywork. In 1970, the Mark IV model brought comprehensive changes. The rear end was updated to resemble the Triumph Stag and 2000 models also designed by Italian designer Giovanni Michelotti. The 1. 3L inline 4 powerplant was rated at a somewhat anemic 63hp. The owner of this 1970 MK IV had other ideas. His creation started by mating the original body to a 1973 Triumph Spitfire MK IV GT6 frame, hood, brakes and front suspension. In 1973 in the United States and Canada, and 1975 in the rest of the world, the 1493 cc inline-four engine was used to make the Spitfire 1500. Later improvements to the suspension included longer swing axles and a lowered spring mounting point for more negative camber and a wider rear track. The wider, lower stance gave an impressive skid pad result of 0. 87g average. This put the Spitfire far ahead of its competition in handling.
