The M35 is a long-lived 2-ton cargo truck initially used by the United States military. Over time the M35 evolved into a family of specialized military vehicles, all collectively referred to by the nickname 'Deuce and a Half' thanks to a much older truck with a beloved reputation from WWII. The M35A1 and M35A2 were built from 1950 to 1988, and today's example, the M35A3, was constructed from 1993 to 1999. The truck is rated to carry 5,000lbs off-road and 10,000lbs on the road. This M35A3 was built in 1993 as part of the US Military's Extended Service Program, under which existing M35 trucks were refurbished and updated. Updates included the installation of a Caterpillar 3116 turbodiesel inline-six engine and an upgraded Allison four-speed automatic transmission. The M35A3 has also been equipped with heavy-duty Michelin tires relatively recently. The tread has been described as like-new on all tires, including the spares. Furthermore, we have been told that the truck starts, running and idling as intended, and the Allison shifter shifts smoothly. The D Series shared its AD platform with the Dodge Ramcharger/Plymouth Trailduster twins. Dodge D Series trucks were powered by a humongous array of optional engines during its lifetime, ranging from the 170 CID Slant Six to some serious big block power, buyers had a wide variety of engines to choose from. However, in 1962 the available engines were the 170 and 225 CID Slant Sixes, and a 318 CID V8. This one is equipped with the 225 CID Slant Six, which is backed by a 3-speed manual transmission that shifts smoothly through the gears. One nifty add-on that isn't found often on these vintage rides is the addition of electric air conditioning (not blowing cold at check-in, however). To help keep operating temps under the hood in check, its owner added a high-capacity aluminum radiator and electric-fan-cooled A/C condenser. Equipped with a 350 SBC crate engine from JEGS and backed with a 350 turbo, finding parts or making performance upgrades is simple and cheap. The F250 was Fords workhorse of the bunch. Built for the working class and used primarily as work/fleet vehicles there are not of these 5th generation 3/4 ton trucks left. This example is a 2-owner truck with most of its life spent on a farm seeing much of its life hauling and running around that very place. With a mere 32000 miles showing on the odmeter it is bealived to be original to the truck. Bought in 2000 from that same farmer the truck needed some love but still ran great with the original 352 engine and 4-speed transmission in proper running condition. The decision was made shortly after that to bring this truck back to its original glory. Disassembled and separated from the frame with the actual cab was tossed for a new one. The hood was also exchanged for a new one ensuring any rust issues were solved. The last piece of the puzzle was the bed which wound up having to be scrapped as well with a new one taking its place.
