1967 Chevrolet Nova

For sale at Gateway Classic cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1967 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova. This is a true street terrorizer! But only if you want it to be. Power comes from a modern LS1 that's been fully built and includes Precision Twin Turbos. The engine isn't over cammed allowing the power to be attained at lower rpms and be driver friendly. Then once you climb a little in the rev range, the turbos kick in and you better be ready. We're talking about 1,150 horsepower and holy smokes does this thing come alive! The LS1 features a high rise intake with Holley electronic fuel injection. If you look closely, you can see the turbos behind the grille next to each headlight. The turbos also act as mufflers. The exhaust comes straight off of the back of the turbos and dumps just behind the front tires. By that description, it sounds like it would be beyond loud, but it really isn't. If you get pulled over, it won't be from excessive noise, most likely from the wide strips of rubber you just left on the pavement. The tires, Mickey Thompson Sportsmans measure 29x18.50-15 in the rear and 26x7.50-15 in the front, both wrapped around Centerline aluminum racing wheels. A narrowed rear end with 4.11 gears, Mosser axles and a four link suspension send you down the road very quickly. The transmission is a 2-speed Power Glide with a Trans Brake for quick launches. There's also a line lock to have fun with or to warm up the rear tires before you stage the car. This theme behind the car was to be a bad to the bone street car and not a race car. There is no cage to climb over. In fact it has a very nicely detailed custom red and black interior featuring bucket seats, a center console, CD player with a great sound system. It's hard to miss the custom speaker enclosure where the rear seats were once located. All of the necessary gauges are in place and are easy to read. You can also dial in the tune with a Holley on board computer. The car is finished in a great shade of red and has a small cowl hood leaving the imagination to wonder what underneath. Under the front bumper lurks a giant intercooler providing cool dense air to be forced into the high rise intake manifold.
