This 1931 Ford Model A Is a real piece of automotive history. A true classic in every sense of the word. From the stone brown and black paint to the brown interior this Model A is sporting a color combination you just don't see anymore. The engine was a water-cooled L-head inline four with a displacement of 201 cu in. This engine provided 40 hp with a top speed of 65 MPH. The 31 Roadster has always been dear to any enthusiast's heart. One of the biggest things in the custom world is to place Chevy Drivetrains inside these Ford bodies. This builder decided that was not going to work for him. He, like many people, believe that a Ford should have a Ford drivetrain. With that said a 302 Ford engine was sourced along with a 3-speed automatic transmission the build was coming together. The body of the car is all steel, other than the rear fenders and hood top, something that is hard to find in today's market. It-s not very often that you see one, especially in this condition. This car is finished in a beautiful green exterior color and a saddle brown vinyl interior. Faircloth, Glassic Industries earned a reputation for its exquisite replica car program that saw production of approximately 1600 fiberglass-bodied replicas of 1931 Model A Fords from 1966 to 1981. Located in West Palm Beach, Florida the Glassic Company were one of the first enterprises to spearhead an effort to manufacture vehicles of a time gone past, but not forgotten. Many of the cars were Phaeton body style, but some were roadsters as seen here in this beautiful example! While often confused with Shay replicas, Glassic replicars are unique in that they were physically modified to be more practical for driving.
