This 1953 Chevrolet Bel Air has been shown an incredible amount of love and attention. The current owner found this vehicle on a trailer at a swap meet, and decided that the state of disrepair it was in was unacceptable. The electrical system was replaced entirely, and was converted to a 12 volt system for ease of repair and maintenance. New brakes, shocks and springs were installed. The car was lowered 2- in the process, giving it a much more streamline and modern look. Under the hood is what is believed to be the numbers matching engine and transmission. It has received a new water pump, alternator, remote oil filter, factory style replacement headers, and Offenhauser valve cover and dual carburetor intake. The Chevrolet Bel Air was a full-size automobile that was produced by Chevrolet for the 1950-'1981 model years. Initially only the two door Hardtops in the Chevrolet model range were designated with the Bel Air name from 1950 to 1952, as distinct from the Styleline and Fleetline models for the remainder of the range. With the 1953 model year the Bel Air name was changed from a designation for a unique body shape to a premium level of trim applied across a number of body styles.
