1965 was the first year for Chevrolet's totally redesigned Impala. The car was completely new from the engine options available under the hood down to the revolutionary perimeter frame underneath. GM tweaked or totally changed almost every aspect of the car. When completed the 65 Impala was one the sleekest cars to come out of Detroit. The public took notice and almost a million cars were sold that first year alone. This particular Impala left the factory with a V8 but has been replaced with the ever popular big block displacing 396 cubic inches. With its wide valve covers and triangular breather the massive motor looks right at home. The power steering pump as well as the brake booster looks as if they were recently installed. The turbo 400 transmission shifts nicely with a firm positive shift as it goes through the three gears. The red paint is in good condition, with no major scratches dents or dings the body of the car shows very nice. The Chevelle is arguably the most sought after of all muscle cars. Beginning production in 1964 it was very similar in size and concept to the ever popular 55-57 Chevy-s. Much like those cars the Chevelle has a cult like following today with the first generations being the most sought after. This 65 is a great example of using one of these A body-s as a platform to build a cool classic street Machine. Probably the first thing to catch your attention is the gold metallic paint; it really pops when out in the sunlight. Finishing the classic look is a set of chrome Cragar SS wheels. Pop the hood and this is where the real fun begins. The 355 CID engine was never offered in a -65 Chevelle making this a custom build. The Holley carb sitting on top of the high flow intake keeps this healthy cammed up V8 fed. Naturally you are going to have quite a bit of spent gasses coming out so the dual exhaust to take care of that perfectly. Seems like everybody-s Grand-Pa had one of these cars, I know mine did. The Impala has been painted at some time, but is the original color, Tahitian Turquoise, that it came from the factory. Exactly when the car was repainted or if it has been repainted is unknown, but the paint absolutely stunning. Pop the hood and you see the original 283 CID V-8 and Powerglide 2 speed transmission. After being purchased by the 3rd owner, the only changed he made was to freshen up the engine with a rebuild. Another rarity for 1965 is factory installed AC. Grand Dad-s car didn-t have this and would have been nice on those trips to church on Sunday. The 1st generation pickups are getting harder to come by that are in good running and driving condition. Not to mention having minimal modifications from original appearance.

This '65 features a 250 CID I6 that runs very well and has plenty of power for a nice cruising pickup. Paired to a 3-speed automatic transmission and getting a fresh tune up this truck is ready for the road. The gear assembly, power steering pump, hoses, upper and lower ball joints, and much more were all replaced to ensure a safety drive ready classic vehicle. All the work was completed just last year by Paul Peace's body shop in Spring, Tx. Receipts of work completed can also be provided upon request.
